Drug Delivery Modeling

Ongoing team work on spatial drug-transport modeling for coated intramedullary nails.

Transport modeling / Requirements / Verification

Connecting device geometry to a transport-modeling problem.

5members on the design team

As part of a five-member Drexel senior-design team working with DePuy Synthes, I am contributing to the definition of a model for drug transport over space and time from a coated intramedullary nail.

Implementation & scope

  • Contributing to design rationale and requirements for release and transport modeling.
  • Defining how nail geometry, coating thickness, drug loading and tissue transport enter the modeling problem.
  • Developing verification and sensitivity requirements as the project progresses.
